Get a First Look and Drive the Game Changing 2015 Ford F-150

How would you like to be one of the first in the country to drive the 2015 Ford F-150 pickup?

A tour allowing consumer test drives of the highly anticipated all-new Ford F-150 has begun in 38 markets across the United States.

We get our first look here in the Salt Lake City, Utah area starting next week.

Visit F150Drive.com to be one of the very first people to drive the all-new 2015 Ford F-150 truck before it's available to the public and enter the Sweepstakes for a chance to win one!

Here is some information provided by Ford for the ongoing event:

“The new F-150 is a game changer,” said Doug Scott, Ford Truck group marketing manager. “Truck customers are going to learn about and experience the F-150’s new features and improved performance from the best place possible – the driver’s seat.”

Tour vehicles will feature the all-new 2.7-liter EcoBoost® V6 that produces 325 horsepower and 375 lb.-ft. of torque and includes Auto Start-Stop designed to enhance fuel economy in stop-and-go driving. The 3.5-liter EcoBoost that produces 365 horsepower and 420 lb.-ft. of torque will be available to test drive as well.

“This is the most anticipated truck in Ford history,” said Scott. “Consumers will see for themselves how Ford reinvented the pickup, and experience how the all-new F-150 is a more capable and efficient tool that can make their daily lives easier and more productive.”

The tour also will feature interactive displays to help consumers gain a better understanding of the technical aspects of the all-new F-150, including its high-strength steel frame construction and high-strength, military-grade, aluminum-alloy body panels.

If you do not live in the Utah area, here is a list of tour stops by route:

Man of Steel Ram Pickup Truck Promotes Superman Movie

Ram has created a special truck, officially known as the Ram Power Wagon Man of Steel Edition, that will be making appearances across the country as promotion for the new Superman movie (opening today).

The truck was on display earlier this week at the New York City premiere of Man of Steel and will be travelling around the country to various events, including the Texas State Fair and the National Rodeo Finals in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Eventually it will be auctioned off for charity.

The truck, in Dark Ceramic Gray (think Clark Kent's suit), has a red accent grill with high gloss black roof and black 17-inch off-road alloy wheels.  A large Superman "S" is emblazoned on the front center grill, the back tailgate and also is stitched in red on the seat backs.  A Man of Steel badge is also found on the glove box.

Ram (Chrysler's truck division) says the truck does not make an appearance in the movie, but that several vintage Ram trucks make cameos.  This is a great looking truck that people will enjoy getting to see up close as a tie-in to what is expected to be one of the summer's biggest blockbuster movies.

1969 Mini Cooper S Pickup Truck

This has to be one of our favorite "Finds of the Day" by Hemmings.  A pristine 1969 Mini Cooper S pickup for sale on Hemmings.com.

This factory built pickup has been restored to a condition that has won "Best in Class" in every car show entered.

From the seller's description:

Original, restored ’69 shell and VIN plate, with sliding glass windows, exposed hinges, etc. No rust ever and no bondo used in restoration.

This is the only known example of what is essentially now a 2000 model Mini Cooper 1275 S pickup. It is extremely nimble and very quick, due to the very reliable twin-point fuel injection.

Mini pickups were manufactured between 1961-1982 and were built on the extended van platform. Out of the millions of Minis sold throughout the world, there were 521,494 vans built, but only 58,179 pickups. Since the pickup was used mostly as an open-haul work vehicle in rainy Great Britain, most pickups deteriorated beyond the possibility of restoration and there are only a handful of nice, solid ones left, most likely less than 500 in the world. Only a handful of those nice ones have been completely restored to a high level of quality.

If you want attention at car shows and on the road, this is the vehicle that keeps people looking, circling, asking questions, and oohing and aahing. It has sat next to exotic Italian coach-built supercars, with this little pickup drawing most of the love.

It certainly caught our attention.
