Last Call VW Car Show to Be Held at Volkswagen SouthTowne
The Utah Transporters Association, in partnership with Volkswagen SouthTowne, will be holding its 3rd annual "Last Call" air cooled VW car show this Saturday at the VW South Towne dealership in South Jordan, Utah.
As one of the show sponsors again this year, we are looking forward to another great show. And if last year's show is any indication, it is going to be a ton of fun!
This is a free show that starts Saturday, September 22nd at 9 a.m. and goes until 2 p.m. Besides close to 100 or more great vintage air cooled VWs on display, you can expect to see 25 awards handed out, tons of raffle prizes given away, vendors, pin striping, great music and lots more!
All the raffle proceeds this year will be going to benefit the UTA's annual "Bussin' for Santa" efforts.
As their website states: The Utah Transporters Association was created by a group of friends who love Volkswagens; driving Volkswagens, looking at Volkswagens and talking about Volkswagens! It is a free club for people who would like to cruise to shows and hang out together! It's a bus club by name but all Air Cooled Volkswagens are welcome.
The Courtyard by Marriot, 10701 South Holiday Park Drive in Sandy, Utah is offering special rates Friday and Saturday. Phone 801-571-3600 and mention Last Call Car Show when booking.
Volkswagen SouthTowne is visible right off the west side of I-15 at 11000 South 290 West (Frontage Road) in South Jordan, UT.
We hope to see you there...and please stop by our booth and say hello!
To help you get in a vintage Volkswagen state of mind, leading up to the show, here are a couple of videos from last year's Last Call.

Stylish Vintage Performance Cars to be displayed at UMFA
We are really looking forward to this exhibit at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts!
"Speed: The Art of the Performance Automobile" will be opening at the UMFA on the University of Utah campus June 2nd and will showcase some of the most beautiful automobiles in the world.
A collection of vehicles that are impressive for both their performance prowess and their style, these automobiles, many of them one of a kind, should prove to be a great draw throughout the summer for Utahns and any car enthusiasts visiting the Salt Lake City area.
Some of the vehicles on display include:
- The Mormon Meteor III - A car that set more long distance land speed records than any other car in history. This vehicle, driven by Ab Jenkins, was the last Duesenberg ever built.

- A 1957 Jaguar XK-SS roadster - one of only 16 built and this one originally owned by Hollywood film star Steve McQueen.
- 1952 Chet Herbert "BEAST III" Streamliner - This Chrysler Hemi powered streamliner was the fastest car in America in 1952, topping 235 miles per hour.
Take at look at this video from KSL to get a peek at some of the other vehicles as they were being loaded in to the exhibit:
"Speed: The Art of the Performance Automobile" runs from June 2nd through September 16 at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts.
UMFA is located at 410 Campus Center Drive on the University of Utah campus.
Tickets for the exhibit are on sale now and are $18 for adults, $13 for youth (14-17) and seniors, and $3 for kids (3-13).
