We are really looking forward to this exhibit at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts!
"Speed: The Art of the Performance Automobile" will be opening at the UMFA on the University of Utah campus June 2nd and will showcase some of the most beautiful automobiles in the world.
A collection of vehicles that are impressive for both their performance prowess and their style, these automobiles, many of them one of a kind, should prove to be a great draw throughout the summer for Utahns and any car enthusiasts visiting the Salt Lake City area.
Some of the vehicles on display include:
- The Mormon Meteor III - A car that set more long distance land speed records than any other car in history. This vehicle, driven by Ab Jenkins, was the last Duesenberg ever built.

- A 1957 Jaguar XK-SS roadster - one of only 16 built and this one originally owned by Hollywood film star Steve McQueen.
- 1952 Chet Herbert "BEAST III" Streamliner - This Chrysler Hemi powered streamliner was the fastest car in America in 1952, topping 235 miles per hour.
