ZoomAutosUtah.com spent some time at the Utah International Auto Expo at the South Towne Expo Center in Sandy, UT. Presented by the New Car Dealers of Utah and produced by Motor Trend, the Expo is a great place to see 2012 model vehicles from auto makers all in one place. You can see vehicles like the 2012 Hyundai Veloster, the 2012 Chevrolet Volt, the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro and the pre-production 2013 Mazda CX-5.
We talked with Jeff Miller, General Manager of Mark Miller Subaru about the all new 2012 Subaru Impreza - at 36 mpg, the Subaru Impreza gets the highest gas mileage of any all wheel drive vehicle on the road. We also were able to get an up close look at the all new luxury plug-in electric Fisker Karma. Fisker is the new American car maker producing the Karma, a beautiful four door sports car that has a 50 mile battery range and is able to meet global safety and emission standards without modification.
Mike Bailey of the Utah Miata Club talked with us about his love of the Mazda Miata and also let us know about the Miatas of Moab event coming up this spring in Moab, Utah. Camp Jeep kept the crowds entertained with rides in a Jeep through an obstacle course demonstrating the Jeep's on road and off road capabilities.
Jodie Cox with ZoomAutosUtah.com found the car of her dreams - a Ferrari F430 Spider - in the Exotic Car display. Also on display were the Ferrari FF and the Maserati Gran Turismo S.
The Utah International Auto Expo is going on at the South Towne Expo Center in Sandy, Utah, through Monday, Jan. 16th.
It's time for the Utah International Auto Expo - beginning tomorrow at the South Towne Exposition Center in Sandy, Utah. The Auto Expo is billed as the "largest new car display in the intermountain area." It's a great opportunity to see lots of 2012 model cars, trucks, SUVs and hybrids all in one location and, perhaps even more fun, to get a sneak peek at several pre-production 2013 models on display at the show. If you'd like to do more than just look, Ford, Chevrolet, Buick and GMC will all have vehicles on site and available for you to take on a test drive.
Craig Bickmore, Executive Director of New Car Dealers of Utah, the association that owns and operates the show each year, says "this event tops anything we've offered in the past."
The million dollar Exotic Display promises to be a popular area of the Expo. Exotic vehicles on display will include an exclusive Ferrari V12 and the much anticipated Ferrari FF as well as the Maserati Gran Turismo MC and Maserati Quattroporte. I'm especially looking forward to getting a look at the all-new Fisker Karma being showcased by Fisker of Salt Lake.
Jeep is pulling out all the stops with a huge interactive experience called Camp Jeep. The Camp Jeep interactive test track will allow you to experience a Jeep's on and off road capabilities with a professional 4x4 driver at the wheel and among other things allow you to feel the Jeep's abilities going up the 18 foot, 35 degree Jeep Mountain.
It sounds like you will want to bring the kids with lots available for them to do. Children 12 and under will be admitted free on Sunday (Kid's Day) and Monday (Family Day) with a paying adult. Next to the much anticipated Camp Jeep experience, kid-sized Jeeps will be available for children to drive and Jeep is providing a 25 foot climbing wall for kids to climb while waiting for their turn in a Jeep.
Two dollar discount coupons are available from area McDonald's restaurants and for every $2 coupon redeemed the Auto Expo will donate $1 to Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Intermountain Area.
